A most memorable book from childhood which still remains #1 to this day is: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. I remember the feelings that reading this book page by page out loud created. Tears would lightly form in my eyes as waves of deep melancholy crashed through my small younger self and with it also came true compassion, selflessness, loyalty, kindness and love. It’s amazing that a single story could make a child feel so many things- this is a masterpiece.
